Theme: Collaboration
Welcome to the start of our monthly newsletter series, fellow SASE members. We're excited to kick things off with a focus on collaboration; a cornerstone of our community's values. This month, we’re spotlighting an initiative that's been brewing in our Slack community.
Spotlight: #open-process-library
In the #open-process-library channel, a self-organized group of engineers is crafting an open-source library to enable cross-platform work. This project showcases the essence of our community’s collaborative spirit.
Why is it important?
Sometimes, a single question can spark a movement. When a member inquired about a method to programmatically create an Ignition HMI, it triggered a 555-message-long discussion thread! From this initial discussion, the idea to develop a vendor-agnostic PLC development library was born.
This project, powered by SASE members from around the world, is a testament to what we can achieve together. It's a true community-driven endeavor, with engineers sharing their expertise, ideas, and time to build something impactful. To get involved or track the project's progress, check out the Slack channel #open-process-library or visit the GitHub repo.
Save the Date: SASE Onsite
In the spirit of collaboration, SASE will be hosting an in person event in Portland, Oregon, this October 3rd to 5th! So mark your calendars and keep an eye on the Slack channels for more details.
